First information letter and invitation
Dear colleague!
We are happy to invite you to take part in the International Conference
dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Prof. Vladimir Admoni (1909-1993)
who worked at the Department of Grammatical Theory and Typological Research
at our Institute.
The Conference will take place from 09 to 13 of November 2009 in the
Institute of Linguistic Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences (Tuchkov per.,
9, Saint Petersburg, Russia).
Following topics will be discussed:
- W.G. Admoni and modern linguistics.
- Theoretical problems of modern Germanic languages.
- Field structure of grammatical Phenomena.
- Grammatical categories.
- Sentence typology.
- Grammar and text.
- System of forms of speech communication.
- History of Germanic languages.
- Factors of development of grammatical system.
- Methods and principles of grammar researches.
- Interconnections between linguistics and literature.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to meet your expenses in Saint
Petersburg, therefore we would encourage you to look for the funding at
your institution, or at your home scientific foundations.
