The Third International Conference on Mongolic Linguistics (ML 2018) will be held on July 29 — August 1, 2018

The Joseph M. Tronsky XXII Memorial Annual International Conference Indo-European Comparative Linguistics and Classical Philology will be held on June 18–20, 2018. Papers are accepted until March 20, 2018.

The International Conference “Russian Verb” on 15–17 November 2017. The abstracts are accepted until April 30, 2017. The programme and the abstracts are available.

The 15th Slavic Cognitive Linguistics Conference will be held on 12–14 October, 2017.

The 5th conference “Constructional & Lexical Semantic Approaches to Russian” (RusConstr) will be held on 11 October, 2017.

Call for Abstracts

The Institute for Linguistic Research announces the call for abstracts for the conference “Problems of ontolinguistics — 2015: mechanisms of language acquisition and development of speech competence” to be held in St Petersburg on 18–20 of May 2015 (Tuchkov per. 9, Vassilievsky Isl. M “Vasileostrovskaja”).

The conference focuses on the following topics:

  • theoretical problems of first language acquisition;
  • data sources in the studies of language acquisition: experiments, questionnaires, parental diaries, spontaneuos speech;
  • child-directed speech;
  • child bilingualism and Russian as a second language;
  • acquisition of reading and writing competence;
  • communication at the early stages of language acquisition;
  • phonetic features of children's speech;
  • early lexicon and its development;
  • acquisition of morphology;
  • syntax acquisition and development of narrative competence;
  • semantic categories acquisition;
  • language impairment in children;
  • development of dialogue skills and communicative competence;
  • children’s reflection on language;
  • children’s literature and its perception.

Suggestions for workshops and symposia are also welcome.

The abstracts should not exceed 2 pages and should be submitted to The deadline for submission is 1st March 2015. The absract should include the following: description of the problem, data, results, discussion/conclusion.

An abstract should follow the format: 12pt Times New Roman, single-spaced, 2 cm margin on all sides. In-text references are to be given in round brackets and the age of children written as 3;2.4 (3 years 2 months 4 days). Full references are placed in the end of an abstract in alphabetic order.

The Organizing Committee reserves the right of selection of papers for the conference. Notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail by 10 March 2015. Unfortunately, the Organizing Committee cannot cover the accomodation and travelling expences of the participants.
