First announcement and call for papers

In 2017 we celebrate 50 years since publication of the book „Russian verb“ („Russkiy glagol“) by A. V. Bondarko and L. L. Bulanin. The book had immediately caused the great interest among scientists and played the important role in further research of Russian grammar. Even now, 50 years later, this volume remains relevant, being one of the most cited books among investigations on Russian verb and its grammatical categories.

In accordance to this significant date The Institute for Linguistic Studies RAS and The Faculty of Philology at St. Peterburg State University are going to hold The International Conference „Russian Verb“ on 15-17 November 2017.

The topics include:

  1. Verb as a part of speech. Finite and non-finite forms of Russian verb.
  2. Russian verb in cross-linguistic perspective.
  3. Grammatical categories of Russian verb: aspect and aspectuality, tense and taxis, voice, reflexivity, transitivity, mood and modality, person in verbs and pronouns.
  4. Derivation of Russian verb.
  5. Lexical semantics of verbs interacting with their grammatical semantics, lexical aspect in Russian, semantic verb classes.
  6. The syntax of verb phrase; verbal constructions, text functions of verbs.
  7. Cognitive aspects of lexical and grammatical semantics in Russian verb.
  8. Russian verb in lexicography.
  9. The diachrony of Russian verb.
  10. Use of verbs in different speech registers, verb in poetry.
  11. First and second language acquisition of Russian verbs.

The papers concerning the life and scientific biography of A. V. Bondarko and L. L. Bulanin are also welcome.
