Slavic Cognitive Linguistics Conference 2017

The Slavic Cognitive Linguistics Association (SCLA) will hold its 15th conference from Thursday, October 12 through Saturday, October 14, 2017 in St. Petersburg, Russia. The conference will be locally organised and hosted by the Institute for linguistic studies, Russian Academy of Sciences. Since its inauguration in 2000, it will be the first time that SCLA holds its meeting in Russia.

In conjunction with SCLC-2017, the Institute for Linguistic Studies, RAS, will hold the 5th conference “Constructional & Lexical Semantic Approaches to Russian” (RusConstr) to take place on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. For more information see here.

Call for papers

We invite abstracts for 20+10 minute presentations on any topic of relevance to Slavic Cognitive Linguistics. Abstracts should be based on work that has not yet been published. We especially encourage submissions from young researchers.

The deadline for abstract submission is April 15, 2017. Abstracts can be written in English or in any Slavic language. Abstracts should not be longer than 500 words, including references. Please refrain from any self-identification in the body of the abstract. Each individual may be involved in a maximum of two abstracts (maximum one as sole author).

Authors will be notified of acceptance / rejection by May 15, 2017.

Travel & Accommodation

We will provide detailed travel and accommodation information after May, 15. Note that most foreign nationals will need a visa in order to enter Russia. The local organizers will send personalized invitations and further assist in obtaining visas if necessary.

Conference fees

There will be a reduced conference fee for those participants who register before August, 1 (early bird registration). Besides, there will be reduced fees for students, including Ph.D. students. The fee options are the following:
